This paper delves into the intricate character of the trickster as portrayed in oral literature while conducting a comprehensive survey to explore the universality of this intriguing figure across diverse world cultures. The investigation draws inspiration from Carl Jung's proposition that these archetypal manifestations in cultural and religious literature stem from the "collective unconscious," a profound thread of consciousness connecting all human beings and societies worldwide. The essay emphasises the distinctiveness of each trickster's personality within their respective cultures while also highlighting the common traits shared among all tricksters. Typically perceived as an entertainer, teacher, judge, and sage, the trickster embodies both humorous and serious aspects of life, encompassing a wide range of roles from rewarding to punishing. Furthermore, the study asserts that the trickster character goes beyond being a mere fictional element in oral literature; rather, it serves as a powerful tool for pedagogy and satire. The study advocates for the deliberate collection and documentation of folktales. These tales serve as valuable raw materials for future research, offering insights into the cultural intricacies and shared human experiences across the globe.

Results conclude that knowledge sharing, empowerment, trust, and commitment are the important factors which drives the local community development. Managerial implications have been provided for the rural tourism purposes.
The tussle between China and India is not a new phenomenon. The main reason for this is border conflicts. Occasionally, news regarding conflicts or the other keeps coming from the border. Both countries are nuclear power and live in competition with each other. However, China is far ahead of India. But in the last few years, especially after the coronavirus and Ukraine war, the trend of the world, mainly Western, is inclining towards India as it is a democratic country and more transparent. Both countries are developing economic corridors to expand their influence on near and far lands. In this context, this paper analyzes the relations between China and India using qualitative methodology. It discusses the root causes of rivalries and the motivation behind economic corridors such as BRI, INSTC and Chabahar Port.

DOI: 10.36348/sjhss.2023.v08i09.005
This study analysed the spatial distribution of urban poverty in Uyo, Akwa Ibom. This research had three objectives and two hypotheses. This study used stratified and simple random sampling techniques to gather data through questionnaires and observations. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were performed on the collected data. The study found that poverty determinants in Uyo included education, occupation, source of income, housing conditions, household expenditure, medical facilities, sources of water, and power supply. The researchers tested two hypotheses using ANOVA, which found a significant difference in the spatial distribution of poor urban residents in Uyo, but no significant difference in the causes and consequences of poor residential districts. This study estimated Uyo's poverty line as ₦11,768.3 using 2/3 of the mean household expenditure of residents. The study also used the spatial interpolation technique in ArcGIS 10.3 software to design a map of Uyo showing the spatial distribution pattern of urban poverty, revealing that Oku and Ikono had high levels of poverty, while Offot and Etoi had the least. The study suggested the need for infrastructural development and enhancement of human capital through training in life skills and vocations to stimulate the innate entrepreneurial potential of people, expand their income-generating capacities, and become more productive.
Chinua Achebe’s, the third novel, Arrow of God centralizes around the struggle for power and authority between the African and Colonial traditions. Ezeulu, the Chief Priest of God Ulu is the protagonist who is in quest of wielding an absolute power throughout the novel. It is the study of psychology of power which incessantly switches directions, but can never be wholly acquired or seized. Achebe wavers between representing the good sides and bad sides of Christianity and Igbo religion reflecting his own ambivalence and split consciousness. To apply Freud’s theory to Achebe, we can say that Achebe had a wish to become English-like and to run away from everything that is native. On the other hand, a part of him rejects the white standards and clings to native ones. These two wishes overlap and integrate in his unconscious producing a creative writer whose ego-ideals are revealed in his writings wavering between the two cultures and their languages. His novel, Arrow of God criticizes and praises both his people and his colonizers simultaneously because of not being able to identify with either. Achebe’s own unconscious is reflected through the central character, Ezeulu who is also fascinated by the power of white man and his customs. The criticism of his native people never disturbed his mind. He goes against his obligations least concerning and considers his power as a device to accomplish his decisions. Towards the end of the novel, we witness him alienated both from his native culture and his white friends succumbing to tragedy. The Psychological Realism in the Arrow of God represents Freud’s three elements of personality - id, ego and superego controlling the basic needs, reality and morality. The mind is not the physical thing one can see through, but the effects of the actions of the mind on people’s lives are felt physically in the novel. Each character undergoes an unconscious thought process leading to anxiety and the eventual repression of thoughts.

The sole hilly region in Bangladesh is known as the Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT), which is comprised of the three hill districts of Khagrachari, Rangamati, and Bandarban. Due to population dynamics, economic development, climatic change, improved accessibility, and agricultural developments, land usage is changing at an increasingly rapid rate in the CHT. This research was carried out in Khagrachari Sadar upazila in the Khagrachari district of Bangladesh. This study looked at how farmers perceive changes in land use patterns and the factors that influence such perceptions. A total of 180 households were sampled using the proportional random sampling technique, and the survey was conducted using a previously created, closed-ended questionnaire. The average land ownership of the farmers was 4.22 acre, although the average agricultural and forest land holding was 1.37 acre and 1.54 acre, respectively. Although, the farmers also possessed considerable amount of vegetable land and flat land also and these lands were utilized to produce different types of vegetables, crops, fruit and timber trees. Average age of the farmers was 49.75 years and 32% of them did not receive any formal education. About 62% of them did not take part any agriculture related training program. Although, 95% of the farmers had medium to poor perception on land use pattern change. Moreover, many farmers perceived that currently overall soil fertility status of the hilly land had been decreased compared to 10 years back. In addition, out of thirteen attributes, four attributes, namely, educational attainment, family annula income, agricultural training received and agricultural land ownership had significant influence on the perception of land use pattern change by the respondents. The findings from the research can be used by the nation's decision-makers and planners to create future CHT land allocation policies.
