In this research, finite elements analysis is utilized, using SAP2000, to study the effectiveness of different techniques on the seismic retrofitting of existing reinforced concrete framed structures. The models are considered for reinforced concrete framed structures; and seismic evaluation is conducted. These models represent typical structures that were designed and constructed before and after the current Saudi Building Code, SBC-2007. The seismic evaluation was conducted using SAP2000 Program. This study focuses on performance based design of three multi-story RC framed buildings in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, subjecting them to monotonically increasing lateral forces with an invariant height wise distribution until the preset performance level (target displacement) is reached. Considering the deficiencies indicated in analysis, these buildings are redesigned by adopting retrofitting techniques such as shear wall, bracing and column strengthening. These techniques strengthen structures to reach the targeted performance level. The results indicate the effectiveness of each technique and how applicable it is to be used for seismic retrofitting of structures in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

As reported by WHO on 18th July, there are a total of 13,876,441 and 593,087 confirmed deaths due to covid-19. About 216 countries or areas are affected with Covid-19 disease. The most probable origin of COVID-19 virus being Chinese horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus Sinicus) and pangolins as the intermediate host. The outbreak of the COVID-19 viral disease is considered to be Health Emergency and has spread to different parts of the world. There is a high risk of cross-infection to occur between the dentist and the patient due to the setting of the dental clinic. During the dental procedures a large number of droplets and aerosols that are released in the environment can contaminate the clinic even during the incubation period or in case with asymptomatic patients and hence the standard cleaning techniques wont work and requires special sanitization. According to the MOH guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic in Saudi Arabia, strict guidelines and protocol need to be followed for the prevention of infection and as control measures for the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As per the report of WHO on 18th July, there are a total of 13,876,441 and 593,087 confirmed deaths due to covid-19. The statistics on 4th August showed a total of 281,000 confirmed covid-19 cases in Saudi Arabia, with 244,000 people recovered from the disease and 2984 deaths in total and remaining under treatment. The survey of this study showed results that more than 90% of the dental students have good knowledge about COVID-19 pandemic and dentistry. The dental students are well aware of the protocol to be followed during the dental practices. Very few surveys are done all across the world on the present topic as this is only half a year since emergence of the COVID-19 virus.

The purpose of this paper is to comprehend agrarian struggle which occurred in Champaran district, after the independence of India. As the Champaran Satyagraha, launched by Gandhi during the colonial period, has been a most celebrated peasant movement which was basically for the causes of reasonably rich tenants, but the problems of those who worked as agricultural labourers and sharecroppers were hardly touched by the peasant leaders during the colonial period. After independence, a new kind of the struggle, whose social base was not the tenants, but the labourers and sharecroppers, emerged in the district in 1960s and 1970s. The paper gives a large space to the most celebrated leader Gambhira Sah for the poor peasants, labourers and sharecroppers of Champaran. He envisaged Garib Raj (rule of the poor). The paper, in the end, illustrates the course of the struggle after the killing of Gambhira Sah.

This study has attempted to answer the impact of entrepreneurial orientation on business performance of small hotels in Ghana; the moderating effect of industry forces and firms’ resource. Like any other empirical related study, four constructs, namely entrepreneurial orientation, industry forces, firms' resources, and business performance were used. The study adopted a survey research design that involves the use of quantitative sampling techniques for the primary data. A sample size of three hundred and ninety-six (396) owner-managers was emailed with a questionnaire to solicit for their responses. Analysis of the independent dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation showed significant correlations between each of the variables and hotel performance. The strategic use of firms’ resource revealed that it positively moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and business performance. Although the hotel industry is turbulent, the strategic implementation of firms’ resources neutralizes the strength of industry forces on the business performance. Again, strategic implementation of these resources increases business profitability, sales growth, customer retention, and customer satisfaction. The findings of this research contribute both to small business management and measurement theory, as well as providing a basis to guide small business policymakers, educators of hospitality management and hotel managers in general.

Nationalism is a perspective that denotes the common interests of the people dwelled in a geographical area of the globe. Nationalism comes into existence when the people of a geographical area unite themselves emotionally as well as socially and politically in a single cause especially with the aim of gaining and maintaining the nation’s sovereignty over the place where they lived in. nationalism is an idea that prevent the human physiology to live the life of slavery under the foreign authority. It teaches a nation to refrain from accepting any foreign superiority on their people and promote the full power and right to govern the people of a nation without having any interference from the people or authority came from outside. Though the concept of modern nationalism was emerged in India in the early nineteen century but it never denotes that the people of early India were lack of national feelings. Many colonial historians by their historiography tried to prove that the fight fought by Indian Muslim was absence of Nationalism and deliberately exaggerated that the revolution performed by Indian Muslim were the result of Islamic fanaticism but the truth never be hidden as many primary resources regarding the national movement of India were preserved in national achieve of India which denotes that most of the revolution done by Muslim in per-nineteenth century were based on national feelings. Here in this paper I would proceed my work basing on the documents preserved in national archive of India which were more authentic and strong evidence of the contribution of Muslim community to the freedom movement of India based on nationalism.

The great need to the antioxidants in our life and the increased demand of thiourea derivatives which exhibit great biological activity as anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antitumor, and also act as antioxidants and anticorrosive agents leads us to synthesize: N-(2-chlorophenyl)-N’- benzoyl thiourea (CBT) and N-(4-chloro phenyl)-N’- benzoyl thiourea (PCBT) by reflux method and then their metal complexes of CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII were synthesized by microwave (green chemistry) in hope to get better activities. The structure of ligands and their complexes have been characterized by using elemental analysis, mass Spectroscopy, FT-IR, UV-Vis., 1HNMR and 13CNMR. In this study the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their in vitro DPPH radical scavenging activity. They exerted varying degree of scavenging activity toward DPPH radical with IC50 values between 84 and 250 µg/mL which is considered good and acceptable activity when compared with the activity of standard Ascorbic acid which give IC50 = 14.4 µg/mL. Also the anticorrosion activity of the two synthesized ligands (CBT) and (PCBT) was evaluated on carbon steel coupons by using weight loss method.
