Copper nanoparticles are typically in black or brown powder form. Copper nanoparticles uses in heat exchange systems, bioscience, anti-microbial materials, Aluminum is extremely harmful to fish in the acid conditions. The primary targeted organ of fish is gill, and death is influenced by a variety of respiratory, osmo-regulatory, and ion regulatory dysfunction. To understand the effect of heavy metals on the aquatic biota, it is necessary to characterize the methods readily accessible to aquatic species for heavy metal mobility, immobilization, and excretion. The severe Ag toxicity to fish is very lower in the sea-water than in the freshwater. Tetrodotoxin is a highly poisonous toxin located primarily in gonads and liver of some fishes, including pufferfishes, toadfish and globefish as well as some shellfish, octopus, and amphibian species. Fish exposed to Cr for the first time displayed a variety of behavioural alterations, including loss of appetite, irregular swimming, changing in colour and mucous discharge. It is much more complicated than genome of humans because zebrafish possess two more sets of chromosomes than humans. Glutathione peroxidase and Catalase are anti - oxidant enzymes that have long been used to assess anti-oxidant injury and stress reaction.

Introduction: Warthin like papillary thyroid carcinoma is a rare variant that bears features similar to Warthin tumour of salivary gland. It shows papillary or follicular structures lined by oncocytic cells having typical nuclear features of papillary thyroid carcinoma and marked lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate in the stroma. Case Report: A 60 year old lady presented in the ENT OPD with right sided neck swelling since 2 years. On examination the swelling was firm, non-tender, moving with deglutition and measured 4x3 cm. FNA smears of the swelling were highly cellular and comprised of cells arranged in papillary clusters. The cells were predominantly oncocytic and showed nuclear grooving and intranuclear inclusions. Cytological diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma (Bethesda Category VI) was offered. Thyroidectomy specimen measured 6.5x5x3 cm and right lobe revealed gray tan tumor with numerous papillae and few cystic areas. Microscopy revealed a well circumscribed tumour, with tumour cells arranged in papillary architecture with presence of dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate in the stalks of papillae. The cells lining the papillae had abundant granular eosinophilic cytoplasm and many of the cells showed nuclear grooving and intranuclear inclusions. Occasional psammoma bodies were also seen. The surrounding thyroid showed features of hashimoto’s thyroiditis. A final diagnosis of Warthin like variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma was given. Conclusion: Warthin like variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma is a distinct rare variant. It is associated with good prognosis when compared with other variants of papillary thyroid carcinoma, warranting a proper identification.

The present study determines the effects of the ethanolic stem bark extract of Boswellia dalzielii H on gastric homogenate and serum levels of TNF-α and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), during the healing of chronic gastric ulcer induced by acetic acid in Wistar albino rats. Round and deep chronic gastric ulcers were induced by a high concentration of acetic acid in Wistar albino rats. 75 rats with gastric ulcers were randomly assigned to five treatment groups (2-5). Rats in group 1 had no gastric ulcer and were administered with vehicle 5ml/kg. Rats in group 2, negative control had gastric ulcers and were treated with vehicle 5ml/kg. Rats in group 3 were treated with ranitidine (50mg/kg) while rats in groups 4, 5, and 6 were treated daily with 100, 200, and 400mg/kg of ethanolic stem bark extract of Boswellia dalzielli H respectively. Treatment in all the groups was by intragastric administration. Five rats from groups (2-6) were euthanized on days 3, 7, and 9 along with the control group (1). Blood was collected, serum prepared, and assayed for TNFα and VEGF using ELISA. The stomach of each animal was evaluated for gastric ulcer, assessed for histopathologic changes, and preparation of gastric tissue homogenates. Intragastric administration of graded doses of ethanolic stem bark extract of Boswellia dalzielli H and ranitidine (50mg/kg) respectively, down-regulated serum and gastric tissue levels of TNF–α significantly (p<0.05), up-regulated VEGF significantly (p<0.05), and increased gastric ulcer healing rate in a significant manner (p<0.05). The increase was time and Dose and time dependent manner when compared to control. Attenuation of TNFα and up-regulation of VEGF by graded intragastric administration of the ethanolic stem bark extract of Boswellia dalzielli promotes the healing of chronic gastric ulcer induced by acetic acid in Wister albino rats.

Background: Acute appendicitis is the most common cause of acute surgical abdomen worldwide. This clinicopathological study aims to determine the negative appendectomy rates of the surgically removed appendix in our centre and to determine the diagnostic accuracy of acute appendicitis by considering HPE as the gold standard. Method: A retrospective study was undertaken to review the histopathology reports of all the emergency appendicectomy specimens submitted to the Department of Pathology Government medical college and Hospital, Jammu; from 30th June 2020 to 1st July 2021. Patient’s biodata, clinical signs and symptoms were extracted from the request forms. Result: A total of 250 appendices were received during the 1-year study period. The male to female ratio was 3.1:1 with age ranging from 5 to 75 years of age. Acute appendicitis was found in 50.4%, followed by suppurative appendicitis (20%), perforated appendix (15.2), gangrenous appendix (6.4%), acute on chronic appendicitis (8%) and 2 cases of carcinoid tumor (0.8%). NAR was calculated as 4.8%. The diagnostic sensitivity was calculated to be 95.2%. Conclusion: HPE is the gold standard test and helps to determine the negative appendectomy rates which is regarded as the quality indicator of the treating centre.

Introduction: Tumour location within the breast varies with the highest frequency in the upper outer quadrant (UOQ) and lowest frequency in the lower inner quadrant (LIQ). Whether tumour location is prognostic is unclear. To determine whether tumour location is prognostic, associations between tumour site and clinicopathological characteristics were evaluated. Materials and Methods: All patients enrolled in the Clinical Breast Care Project whose tumour site—UOQ, upper inner quadrant (UIQ), central, LIQ, lower outer quadrant (LOQ)—was determined by a single, dedicated breast pathologist were included in this study. Patients with multicentric disease (n = 73) or tumours spanning multiple quadrants were excluded from further analysis. Clinicopathological characteristics were analysed using chi-square tests for univariate analysis with multivariate analysis performed using principal components analysis (PCA) and multiple logistic regression. Significance was defined as P < 0.05. Results: Of the patients with defined tumour location, 30 had bilateral disease. Tumour location in the UOQ (51.5%) was significantly higher than in the UIQ (15.6%), LOQ (14.2%), central (10.6%), or LIQ (8.1%). Tumours in the central quadrant were significantly more likely to have higher tumour stage (P = 0.003) and size (P < 0.001), metastatic lymph nodes (P < 0.001), and mortality (P = 0.011). After multivariate analysis, only tumour size and lymph node status remained significantly associated with survival. Conclusions: Evaluation of tumour location as a prognostic factor revealed that although tumours in the central region are associated with less favourable outcome, these associations are not independent of location but rather driven by larger tumour size. Tumours in the central region are more difficult to detect mammographically, resulting in larger tumour size at diagnosis and thus less favorable prognosis. Together, these data demonstrate that tumour location is not an independent prognostic factor.

Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans (DFSP) is an uncommon soft tissue tumor that involves the dermis, subcutaneous fat, and in rare cases, muscle and fascia. It represents less than 0.1% of all tumors, but is considered to be the most common skin sarcoma. We present one such case where histopathology and immunohistochemistry helped clinch the diagnosis .DFSP has a high rate of recurrence but a low rate of metastasis. Wide surgical excision is the cornerstone of treatment for DFSP.

Chondroblastoma is a rare, giant cell -rich benign neoplasm of bone. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is gaining acceptance as a convenient and reliable method in preoperative diagnosis of chondroblastoma. Differential diagnosis of chondroblastoma on FNAC include giant cell-rich tumors and tumor like lesions such as aneurysmal bone cyst, giant cell tumor, chondromyxoid fibroma. Preoperative diagnosis of chondroblastoma is mandatory for treatment protocol and prognosis. We describe a case of 18 year old female patient who presented with painful swelling over right heel of one year duration. FNAC smears of swelling stained with Leishman and Giemsa stain showed neoplastic mononuclear chondroblasts showing round to oval nuclei, nuclear indentation, grooving and intranuclear inclusions with abundant vacuolated glassy cytoplasm, chicken wire calcification, multinucleated osteoclast like giant cells and chondromyxoid matrix. Histopathological examination of excised specimen revealed focal areas of mature cartilage with proliferating chondroblasts showing nuclear grooves and numerous giant cells. Thus confirming the diagnosis of chondroblastoma.

Urinary tract infection is the attack of a tissue of the urinary tract by one or more micro-organisms. It is a major public health problem. The objective of this work is to propose, based on updated data, the microbial ecology of urinary tract infection at the Avicenne Military Hospital in Marrakech, and to follow the antibiotic sensitivity profile of uropathogenic bacteria. This is a retrospective descriptive study over 4 years from January 2014 to December 2018, which was conducted on urinary cytobacteriological examinations from hospitalized patients and outpatients, treated at the microbiology laboratory of the Military Hospital Avicenne of Marrakech. Of the 17607 ECBUs that were examined, the diagnosis of urinary tract infection was retained in 2349 (13%). 75% of the ECBUs came from hospitalized patients and 25% from outpatients, with a sex ratio of 1.1. The analysis of the ECBU showed that Enterobacteriaceae constituted 80% of the positive urine isolates, with a predominance of Escherichia coli (62%), followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae (13%). The reading and interpretation of the antibiograms showed that Escherichia coli was resistant to aminopenicillin associated with clavulanic acid in 51% of the cases against 55% for Klebsiella pneumoniae. The resistance of enterobacteriaceae to fluoroquinolones is about 33% for Escherichia coli, 30% for Klebsiella spp, while for the Trimmethoprim+Sulfamethoxazole combination more than half of the strains were resistant. On the other hand, aminoglycosides still have a good activity profile on enterobacteriaceae. The prevalence of BMR is 6.5%, represented by enterobacteriaceae producing extended spectrum betalactamases (ESBL) isolated in 89% of cases, with a predominance of Escherichia coli (52%) followed by klebsiella pneumoniae (22%) and Enterobacter cloacae (16%). Then the ceftazidime-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PARC) occupies the 2nd place with 5%, and finally methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and imipenem-resistant Acinetobnacter baumanii (ABRI) which occupy the 3rd place with rates at 3%. These BMR constitute a worrying problem, hence the need for rigorous application of hygiene rules and rational prescription of antibiotics. The knowledge of bacteriological profiles and the use of targeted antibiotic susceptibility testing will allow a management adapted to each hospital context.
