Dentigerous cysts are the most common bony lesions of the jaws in children. It
is one of the most prevalent types of odontogenic cysts associated with an erupted or
developing tooth. This paper describes a case in which a conservative enucleation
surgery of dentigerous cyst is made to save unerupted permanent tooth. Seen the great
capacity to regenerate the bony structures at the children, conservative surgery should be
tempted in dentigerous cysts in report with open apices teeth.

Mandible is one of the strongest bones of the facial skeleton; still it is it has
structures like condyles which are prone to fracture due to its anatomy and distribution of
heavy masticatory and other functional load. Mandibular condyle fracture accounts for
25-35% of the mandibular fractures. A prospective demographic study was done at
Bapuji Dental College & Hospital, Davangere, to determine condylar fractures occurring
in north Karnataka region. A total of 16 condylar fractures were assessed in a period
2015- 2017.

Pigmented lesions of the oral cavity are an heterogeneous group with several
etiophatogenesis and they can have melanocytic or non-melanocytic origin . Solitary
pigmented melanocytic lesions of the oral cavity are rare. Oral nevus is a benign
proliferations of cells of melanocytic origin and they are rare, for this reason, the
literature is poor. Diagnosis of pigmented lesions of the oral cavity and perioral
tissues is difficult, therefore is essential the histopathological examination to make
a correct diagnosis . The objective of this article is to present a rare case report of oral
nevus in the palate. A 63 years old female patient reported a small black spot not bulging
and asymptomatic. This lesion has been surgically removed and analyzed. The
histological examination of the sample has confirmed the diagnosis and after a week the
palate was completely healed.

Allgrove syndrome which is known as the triple A syndrome, is a rare
autosomal recessive disease. It has an estimated prevalence of 1 per 1,000,000
individuals. The triple A stands for the three most prominent features of the syndrome,
alacrimia, achalasia and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)-resistant adrenal
insufficiency. It may be associated with autonomic, central and peripheral nervous
system abnormalities then the name 4 A syndrome has been introduced. In this paper, we
report the case of a 14-year-old girl with the 4 A syndrome who was referred to the Oral
Medicine Department of hospital La Rabta (Tunisia). She suffered from many oral
manifestations of Allgrove's syndrome as well as general abnormalities. Through this
observation, we will show that the Knowledge of the oral manifestations is important and
it leads the dentist to the right prevention and management of bucco dental complications
of these patients.

Esthetic tooth replacement is a challenging procedure for the dentist, patient,
and technician. Loss of the anterior teeth with existing diastema may result in excess
space. Various treatment options are available for the replacement of multiple anterior
teeth. These options include partial removable dental prosthesis (RDP), an implantsupported prosthesis, and conventional fixed dental prosthesis (FDP). FDP, along with
loop connector, is the best treatment option but not on those with limited interocclusal
space and with deep bite. The cantilever FDP with canine and lateral incisor is the proper
choice for such case. The cantilever FDP design enhances the natural appearance of the
restoration and proper contour, emergence profile, and dental forum. This clinical report
describes a technique that fabricates a bilateral three-unit metal ceramic (MC) cantilever
FDP to achieve optimal esthetics and functional correction for patients with missing
maxillary central incisors along with diastema in between central incisors.

Determining sex plays important role in the identification of the unknown
person. The positive identification of human remains requires the matching of physical
characteristics of the deceased with records of the physical characteristics made before
death. Several methods may be used to produce identification with an aggregate high
level of reliability. Sex determination is usually done by osteometry, DNA analysis and
even by odontometric parameters. Aim of the study was to identify gender using
measurements of mesiodistal crown width of the six maxillary anterior teeth (later added
to derive combined mesiodistal widths), fronto-occipital head circumference, height, and
diameter of the skull on a lateral cephalography. In this study, 100 persons were
evaluated. After obtaining informed consent from the subject selected, measurements of
mesiodistal crown width of the six maxillary anterior teeth (later added to derive
combined mesiodistal widths), fronto-occipital head circumference, height, and diameter
of the skull on a lateral cephalography were performed. Combined data, male, and female
data were analyzed separately for binary logistical analysis for sex determination to the
parameters recorded and discriminant function equation were derived for each parameter.
In the present study mean values of all the parameters were calculated and showed a
statistically significant variation between males and females. Discriminant function
analysis was performed for all the variables which correctly classified 91% of the cases.
Our Study suggests that the discriminant functional analysis has proved that the sex of
unknown sex skull can be determined using above mentioned parameters. Studies at a
large scale are in need to approve or disprove the above factor.

To evaluate clinical performance of three different resin composites
(microfilled, nanohybrid, nanofilled) polished with one-step polishing system in cervical
restorations after 24 month. Thirty adult patients were selected from outpatient clinics
with a total of 90 restorations (30 of each type of dental composite resin). All of the
restorations were finished using fine grit finishing diamond under water-cooling to
remove gross excess and polished with one-step polishing system. All restorations
showed only minor changes and no differences were detected between their performance
at any time period. Nanofill and nanohybrid composite resin showed a satisfactory
clinical performance after 24 month as microfill composite resin.

The mouth is regarded as a mirror and the gateway to health. Various dental
treatment modalities frequently require appointments, which are more than one in
number for completion of the entire treatment program. Missed dental appointments are
an issue which has been noticed for years but very little research has been conducted
around it. To assess various factors responsible for missed dental appointments among
the patients attending a dental college. A cross-sectional study was conducted among the
patients attending various departments of the college. A sample size of 960 was
calculated based on the results of the pilot study and the patients who missed their
appointment at least once during their treatment procedures were included in the study. A
self-structured 19 item questionnaire was used to measure various factors responsible for
missing the appointment. The collected data was subjected to statistical analysis by using
SPSS version 21.0. Among 960 patients, 53% were females and 46% were males.
Various reasons for not attending recall were assessed in patient’s perspective and
college perspective. Lack of time (63%). fear (62%) were cited to be the most common
factors for not attending recall in patients perspective and inconvenient appointment
timings (47%) and dissatisfaction with the reception area(44%) were cited to be the most
common factor for missing the appointment in college perspective. This study concluded
that patients who miss appointments cite the most common reason as lack of time, fear,
lack of transportation inconvenient appointment timings. The key in dealing with the
issue of missed dental appointment lies in altering patient’s psychology during the first
appointment. Counselling and motivation is required to be done at first dental visit to
reduce the chances of missed appointment.
