Engaging students online has proven to yield positive outcomes in their performance mainly because learners do not have to worry about getting to a physical classroom to participate in the class activity. This study seeks to find out students’ awareness and use of innovative educational mobile applications that can help improve their productivity academically in Rivers State University. The study adopted a descriptive survey and interview methods. Three research questions guided the study. 260 students represented the sample of this study. The instrument that was used for data collection was a questionnaire with 41 items titled “Students’ Awareness and Use of Innovative Educational Mobile Applications”. The instrument comprises a 4-point Likert type rating scale which ranged from one (lowest response) to four (highest response). Data gathered was analyzed using mean and thematic interpretation. The results showed that students in Rivers State University have a low awareness and usage level when it comes to mobile applications that can improve academic performance and students use social /entertainment mobile applications than they use academic oriented mobile applications. Based on the findings it is therefore recommended that workshops should be organized to demonstrate how several mobile applications can be used to enhance academic productivity and lecturers should introduce the use of academic oriented mobile applications when delivering instruction to foster meaningful usage by students.

DOI: 10.36348/jaep.2023.v07i11.003
The study investigated the effect of item order on the reliability of mathematics test among secondary school students in Rivers State. One research question and one null hypothesis guided the study. Quasi – experimental research design was used and the study was carried out in nine public senior secondary schools in three local government areas in River State which was drawn using Simple Random Sampling Technique. A sample size of 507 students were drawn from the population of 904 through Stratified Random Sampling Technique and the application of Taro Yemen formula to determine the minimum sample size. The instrument used was Multiple Choice Format Mathematics Performance Test (MCFMPT) arranged in ascending, descending and inconsistent order of difficulty and students’ scores were used for data collection. The reliability of the instrument was 0.75 using split-half method of establishing reliability and Spearman Brown prophecy formula for internal consistency of the instrument. Mean and Standard deviation were used to answer research question while t-test and Analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level. The results revealed that item order based of ascending, descending and inconsistent order do not have significant effect on the reliability of mathematics test among secondary school students. Based on the findings, it was recommended that all pattern of item order (ascending, descending and inconsistent order of difficulty) should be encouraged among secondary school students as it has no significant effect on reliability coefficient. Students should be motivated to improve their real abilities in mathematics related courses and not judging their underperformance in mathematics based on the arrangement of items.

About Alfred Baeumler’s Nietzsche. 3. 'Bachofen and Nietzsche'
Juan Sebastián Gómez-Jeria
Page no 474-485 |
DOI: 10.36348/jaep.2023.v07i11.005
In this third part, we present the English translation of the text ‘Bachofen and Nietzsche’, written by the philosopher Alfred Baeumler. Baeumler's text explores the relationship between Friedrich Nietzsche and Johann Jakob Bachofen, two influential figures in the fields of philosophy, anthropology, and history. Baeumler argues that Nietzsche's philosophy was deeply influenced by Bachofen's ideas on matriarchy, Antiquity, and the feminine. Baeumler suggests that Nietzsche's concept of the Dionysian was inspired by Bachofen's theory of the chthonic and the matriarchal. Baeumler also argues that Bachofen's ideas on matriarchy and the feminine challenged the traditional patriarchal order of Western civilization, and that Nietzsche's philosophy continued this challenge by advocating for a new, life-affirming culture based on the principles of the Dionysian. Finally, Baeumler suggests that Nietzsche's philosophy can be seen as a critical response to Bachofen's romanticism, and that it offers a more nuanced and complex understanding of the relationship between the past and the present.

Page no 486-494 |
DOI: 10.36348/jaep.2023.v07i11.006
The article ‘Hellas and Germania’ by Alfred Baeumler explores the relationship between ancient Greece and modern Germany. Baeumler discusses Nietzsche's relationship with Winckelmann in his work on the conquest of German Hellenism. He notes that Nietzsche was deeply influenced by Winckelmann's insights into the Hellenic world and saw himself as continuing Winckelmann's work. Baeumler argues that Nietzsche believed that subsequent scholars had failed to fully appreciate the essence of the Hellenic spirit, and that he saw himself as carrying on Winckelmann's legacy in this regard. He also notes that Nietzsche believed that the Germans had a special affinity with the Hellenic world, and that he saw Winckelmann and Goethe as examples of this connection.

DOI: 10.36348/jaep.2023.v07i11.009
Adapting to the requirements of the new curriculum reform of secondary school geography, the experiential learning mode can change the traditional secondary school geography learning mode of the students, so that the students really become the main body of the classroom and take the initiative to learn, so that they can get intuitive and real feelings in learning and develop their geography core literacy in this way, this paper tries to understand the actual situation of the application of experiential learning concepts in secondary schools by the field survey and on this basis, we carry out a corresponding Discussion Interviews with five geography teachers and questionnaires from 206 students in two secondary schools in Hunan A and B show that: most students have a good relationship with their geography teachers; most students like the subject of geography; more than half of the students think that the difficulty of geography is average, but 35.3% of the students think that it is challenging to learn geography; the students' ability to learn independently is weak, and only 17.4% of the students often do pre-study before class; and the students' ability to learn by themselves is weak, and only 17.4% of the students often do pre-study before class. Students are less capable of independent learning, with only 17.4% of them regularly doing pre-study before class; the majority of teachers still adopt the traditional teaching mode, which is mainly based on lecturing; nearly half of the students think that the best way to learn is to acquire knowledge through practical activities, and very few students have participated in classroom inquiry activities. Therefore, setting clear goals for teaching activities is an essential guarantee that experiential learning will not become a mere formality; in experiential activities, guiding students in a timely and effective manner will significantly improve the efficiency of experiential learning activities, and avoiding a single evaluation of the feedback of teaching activities. Diversified evaluations can only highlight the effect of experiential learning.
