This study investigated education law and safety/health management. Education law is very important not only to teachers but to all who are involved in the education and circular world. The roles of safety/health in Nigeria and the world at large toward quality service delivery are never to be debatable. Countries and continents over years are faced with challenges of how to enhance the health, safety and security of lives and properties and citizens in the society. The issue of management was also looked at, as it concerns safety and health. Importance of safety and health were also highlighted. Challenges to effective management of safety and health were enumerated in this study. Conclusion was made followed by suggestions which some of them are (1) the rudiments of education law and safety and health management should be taught in schools (2) education law and safety/health management should be taken to other health sectors other than schools.

Ludwig Feuerbach has made significant “ahead” contributions to the history of philosophy in general and the history of classical German philosophy in particularly. In his studies, Ludwig Feuerbach has left a great legacy to be a meaningful end to researcher not only of German classical philosophy. Accordingly, the works of Thoughs on death and immortality (German: Gedanken zu Tod und Unsterblichkeit) he emphasized that it is necessary to reform philosophy in the relationship between matter and consciousness, thinking and being, spirit and nature.

A Cross Sectional Study on Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Dental Education and Clinical Training -A Global Perspective

Objectives: 1) To understand the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the dental education system. 2) To determine the preparedness of dental educators/ education systems to face the new challenges. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional, questionnaire study involving dental educators from different countries was conducted. The time of conduct of this survey was from Oct 2021 to March 2022. The google form questionnaire used to collect the responses. With the intention to cover most of the global responses, at least one country from each continent was chosen. Statistical Analysis: Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS for Windows release 21.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Descriptive statistics were generated, and Chi-square test was used to examine differences in responses to the questions. The significance level was stated as p < 0.05. Results: Out of 280 invitations sent, 237 responses were received. Among the respondent’s 68.4% were male, 28.1% were female and the rest (3.5%) preferred not to mention their gender. There were 63.3% between the age of 36-45 and having teaching experience between 10-19 years. Most of the responses were the faculty members with the designation of Assistant and Associate professor. Responses received from a total of 13 countries. India (96) followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (78). 96.2% of respondents agreed that the Covid- 19 pandemic has influenced the dental education system. Majority (85.7%) believed the pandemic had a negative impact on dental education. Maximum number of respondents cited the social distancing norms (43%), as the reason for such an impact. Conclusion: Majority of the respondents agreed that the pandemic had an adverse effect on the existing dental education practices. Effect was mainly because of reasons like implementation of social distancing norms, socioeconomic impact of the pandemic and changes in the government policies for safe practices. Although half of the respondents agree that they lack the knowledge and skills to adapt to the changing needs of the dental education system, there was an overwhelming interest for upgrading their skills to match the evolving requirements.

The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of the online practicum program on students' professional development, personal growth, skills, and abilities at the College of Business, Systems Plus College Foundation in Angeles City, Philippines during the pandemic. The study included 28 practicum students from the College of Business of Systems Plus College Foundation, Angeles City, Philippines, who were studying Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration. The research employed a structured questionnaire of 28 closed-ended items rated on a 5-point Likert scale on gender, course pursuing, reason and expectation from the practicum, and influence of practicum on the professional development, personal growth, skill, and abilities of the respondents. The gender, course pursuing, reasons, and expectations of respondents were analyzed using descriptive analysis. A reliability scale through Cronbach Alpha was used to assess the questionnaire's reliability. normality was evaluated employing univariate and multivariate normality of skewness and kurtosis, and a non-parametric test through Mann-Whitney test was used to calculate the p-value measuring the evidence against the null hypothesis. The evaluation on the influence of online practicum among the respondents was carried out through a non-parametric test using Mann Whitney test. The study's findings show the influence of internship programs on the professional and personal growth and skills of COB-SPCF business students.

Discipline is an attitude and deed or behavior that can be supported by students in the form of students’ habit in performing and obeying regulations in an orderly manner in accordance with the existing rules. In addition, discipline is defined as a character that needs to be trained for all students, including teenage students who are in high school. The discipline quite often becomes the responsibility of all schools, both guidance and counseling teachers, assisted by subject teachers, class teachers, staffs and school principals. This study aims to determine the constraint and strategy of Guidance and Counseling teacher in increasing students' discipline in Sleman High School. This study is a qualitative research, a type of phenomenology, data collected by observation, interviews and questionnaires. Participants in this study were 15 guidance and counceling teachers, from high school level in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Data analysis used is quantitative descriptive technique. The data was analyzed by Milles & Huberman with data reduction, data presentation, verification of the conclusion. The result of this paper showed that the strategy of Guidance and Counseling teacher had a positive impact in enhancing the students' disciplinary behavior as well as being able to shape the character of students to be better human being.

On-the-Job Training (Practicum) and Academic Performance of the BSBA Students of the College of Business, Systems Plus College Foundation

On-the-job training (OJT) program is one of the most crucial programs in higher education and is an integral part of the educational system in the Philippines, specifically in tertiary. The study determined the relationship between the academic performance and practicum performance of 59 BSBA Marketing Management students at the College of Business, Systems Plus College Foundation, who had taken their practicum in 23 organizations. The research method used in this study was the descriptive-correlation method. Data was based on the Practicum Evaluation Report where student trainees were evaluated on 5 performance key area of assessment. It includes personal characteristics, attitude towards the job, job performance, adherence to company policy, and competence breakdown into 22 items. Findings showed that the student trainees got the highest rating on adherence to company policies rated as very good, followed by job performance, attitude towards, competence, and personal characteristics. The students were rated low in oral and written communication skills as an area for evaluation with a rating of good. Thereby creating an impression that this area should be improved by strengthening the communication skills in all courses by integrating interactive teaching-learning methods like presentations, role plays, debates, cases, written reports, portfolios, and reaction/ term papers to further their communication skills.

Professional Development of Women in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTS) Centres in Universities in Rivers State

Professional development of women in ICT is very crucial for sustainable development of a nation. However, the gender divide in terms of digital technologies has always been a problem. The aim of this study is to determine if women who work in University ICT centres in Rivers State are given the opportunity to develop themselves professionally. The study adopts the descriptive survey research design. The sample size constitutes twenty women from the three Universities in River State namely: University of Port Harcourt, River State University (RSU), and Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUOE). The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire that assessed the professional development of women in ICT in terms of trainings attended, age and educational qualifications. The face and content validity of the questionnaire was determined by experts in ICT and the field of measurement and evaluation. The reliability of the questionnaire was analysed using the Cronbach alpha technique with an overall reliability of 0.83. The research questions were answered using simple percentages, mean and standard deviation. While the hypotheses were analysed using Chi square. Findings revealed that more of middle-aged women attend ICT training (ages 36-45), followed by younger women (ages 25 – 35) and then 46 above, gender does not significantly influence attendance to ICT trainings, but males and females attending ICT training is dependent on age. It is thus recommended that all women who work in ICT centres in Universities should be given equal opportunities to attend trainings for professional development irrespective of their age and educational qualifications.
