The Influence of Roles, Parenting Patterns through Social Behavior on Children's Independence

The purpose of this study is to describe the influence of: the role of parents with independence, the role of parents with social behavior, parenting styles of parents with independence, parenting patterns with children's social behavior, social behavior with independence, the role of parents with independence through social behavior., and parenting style with independence through social behavior. The research sample consisted of 186 children aged 5-6 years in TK Gugus Kemuning, Central Banjarmasin District. The results showed: (1) that the role of the parents, the role of the parents and the independence, was in the high category, the parenting style of the parents tended to use democratic parenting and social behavior was in the medium category; there is influence; There is an influence of the role of parents on social behavior by; (2) There is an effect of parenting style on social behavior of 0.336; (3) There is an effect of the role of parents on independence of 0.288; (4) There is an effect of parenting style on independence of 0.258; (5) There is an effect of social behavior on independence of 0.218; (6) There is an effect of the role of parents on independence through social behavior of 0.119. (7) There is an effect of parenting style on independence through social behavior of 0.073.

Innovative Assessment and Quality Education in Nigeria

This study investigated the influence of innovative assessment on quality education in Rivers State, Nigeria. The study adopted the correlation research design. The population for the study was made up of all the teachers in the senior secondary schools in Rivers State. The proportionate stratified simple random sampling technique was used to draw 300 teachers as the sample size of the study. The instrument for data collection was titled “Influence of Innovative Assessment on Quality Education (INAQE)” designed by the researcher. The instrument was validated by experts in instrument designers, Quality Assurance and Measurement and Evaluation. In the internal consistency of the instrument the RULON statistical technique was used. Five research questions were answered using Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) while the five hypotheses were tested by transforming the scores to t-test statistics at 5% probability level. The results showed significant relationship between teachers’ innovative assessment of, for and as learning and quality education, teachers’ innovative assessment skills and quality education, teachers’ non-uniformity in the innovative assessment techniques and quality education, teachers’ innovative assessment of large class size and quality education. Consequently, recommendation such as teachers to employ the use of innovative assessment of, for and as learning, Federal and States ministries of education to commence the training of teachers on innovative assessment to enhance quality education.

High-quality human resources play an important role in economic growth. In the current cause of national industrialization and modernization and international integration, developing high-quality human resources has been of greater and greater significance and in dire need to meet the requirements of the 4th Industrial Revolution and international integration. Therefore, amending and perfecting the policies of developing high-quality human resources is a regular and long-term task and an objective necessity. It demonstrates a profound understanding of the viewpoint: "Improving quality of human resources and local human resources” is one of the three breakthroughs in the socio-economic development strategy for the period of 2021 - 2022 with a vision to 2045.

This paper reviewed the role of entrepreneurship and vocational education in sustainable development. Graduate unemployment is one of the greatest challenges that bedevil Nigeria, a nation endowed with enormous wealth in terms of human, mineral and natural resources. This paper stresses the importance of entrepreneurship and vocational education curriculum in solving unemployment problems and achieving sustainable development. This papers argues that entrepreneurship and vocational education will provide students who are leaders of tomorrow with skills with which they can be self-reliant because human resource through knowledge based capacity are the cornerstone for effective management and utilization of natural resources. The paper concludes that entrepreneurship and vocational education when engendered leads to employment generation, growth of the economy and promotes sustainable development. The paper recommended that educational institutions at all levels must inculcate and intensify the integration of entrepreneurship and vocational education into its curriculum systems.

Analysis of College Student Archives Management Based on Cultural Education

The management of student archives is an important factor to measure the quality of education and teaching in a university, which is of great significance to the reform and innovative development of colleges and universities. There are still many deficiencies in the traditional management of students' archives adopted by today's universities, and it is difficult to adapt to the development needs of modern college education. Therefore, it is necessary to make certain changes and updates to the traditional management mode of student archives. This paper first discusses the essential attributes and characteristics of student archives, and expounds the value of student archives under the "three complete education". Then, according to the problems retained in the development of student archives, corresponding solutions are put forward to ensure the effective work affairs of the management of student archives, so that the university can better transport talents for the society.

Examining Visual Impairment Challenges on Special Needs Pupils’ Academic Achievement in Bukoba District, Tanzania

The main purpose of this study was to examine the challenges facing visually impaired pupils on academic achievement in special needs primary schools in Bukoba District, Tanzania. The study was guided by a specific objective: to examine visual impairment challenges facing special needs pupils’ academic achievement in Bukoba District. The study was anchored on Maslow’s theory of needs. The study employed a survey research design. The target population was 791 respondents that involved 53 teachers, 735 visually impaired pupils, 2 Head teachers, and 1 DEO. The sample size was 39 teachers, 47 visually impaired pupils, 2 Head of schools and 1 District Educational Officer. The researcher used questionnaires and interviews guides as the tools for research data collection. The study found 92.3 percent agreed by saying that there were some challenges facing visually impaired pupils on academic achievement while few respondents equal to 7.7 percent respondents responded by saying there are no challenges facing visually impaired pupils in special needs primary schools in Bukoba district. Finally, the study recommends that the government should put much effort on supporting visually impaired pupils through financial support as well as allowing more teachers to go for further training, besides providing relevant teaching and learning resources. Ethical considerations were adhered to including seeking consent of the respondents and guarding against plagiarism.

Physical therapy is one of the healthcare professions concerned with human function and movement. According to Higher Education Commission "Physical Therapy is an essential segment of modern health care system. This study was conducted to identify the knowledge of physiotherapy as a profession and the level of awareness amongst intermediate pass students. A cross-sectional study with 348 college students were selected by using convenience sampling technique and a self-designed questionnaire was circulated to them for data collection and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, conducted by SPSS. Results show that knew 50% about the sub-specialties, 70% & 60% have knowledge of treatment modalities and their uses in physiotherapy practice. This study concluded that high school students are having good awareness about physiotherapy as a profession. Further education to the schools is needed to enrich the knowledge about the physiotherapy profession to the school students.

Influence of Principals’ Teaching Staff Development on Students’ Academic Performance in Kisumu County, Kenya

Transformational leadership was operationalized as setting direction, staff development, building collaborative cultures, staffing the program, and academic performance as the KCSE mean score of a school for the period 2014 – 2018. The study arose from the fact that, high school principals are working hard yet the academic performance of public secondary schools in Kisumu County has remained generally poor. Between 2014 and 2018, only 26.9% of students from Kisumu County scored at least C+, and the average mean score in KCSE for the period was only 4.23, below 7.0, the cut out entry. At least 65% of the candidates from Kisumu County did not proceed to university education during the period. Several educational stakeholders had linked school leadership to the poor academic performance, but without empirical evidence. The study specifically investigated the influence of teaching staff development on the students’ academic performance in public secondary schools in Kisumu County. The study adopted a cross sectional survey research design. The target population consisted of 204 principals, 2,196 teachers, and 13,213 Form Three students. In sampling, Krejcie and Morgan table was used to find 152 principals, 333 teachers and 378 students, from 152 schools. Data was collected using questionnaires, interviews, observation and document analysis, and analyzed using simple linear, simple correlation, and stepwise regression with dummy variables, at .05 level of significance. The study tested specific hypothesis that staff development by principals do not have a significant influence on academic performance. The study found 7 significant associations at α = .01, (ϒSDR*DVP = .594, p = .000; ϒSDR*BCC = .476, p = .000; ϒDVP*BCC = .719, p = .000; ϒ =.416, p =.000; ϒ = .685, p =.000; ϒDVP*ACP = .239, p =.000; ϒBCC*ACP = .212, p = .000) and one significant association at α = .05, ϒSDR*ACP =.203, p = .012. The study found that staff development (good) [F (2,149) = 4.027), p = .020, R2 adj = .039, t (149) = 2.604, p = .010]. The study recommends that the ministry of education should empower principals with resources that will enable them to empower their teaching staff by training them on various needs that may arise in the society from time to time, and since the society is dynamic continuous provision of resources by the ministry would be ideal.
