Lymphadenopathy is the most common presentation in the head and neck region and may occur due to inflammatory
conditions, as well as primary and secondary neoplasms. An early and accurate diagnosis helps the clinicians in starting the
specific therapy on time, thus reducing morbidity and mortality. The present study was undertaken to know the spectrum of
lesions found in the Enlarged cervical lymph nodes in 628 patients. Cervical group of lymph nodes are the most common
lymph nodes involved in head and neck region. Non-specific reactive lymphadenitis is the most common benign pathology
associated with enlarged lymph nodes whereas metastasis is the most common malignant condition. Most common age group
of enlarged lymph nodes in benign category was 3rd decade and in malignant category was 6th decade. The sensitivity and
specificity of FNAC is fare enough with lot of various other advantages like rapid diagnosis, reliable, less traumatic, minimal
complication, repeatability, economical and convenient. Fine needle aspiration cytology in our experience provides a reliable
method of investigating lymph node enlargement, the efficacy of which approaches that of other similar diagnostic procedures
and in the present study, over all accuracy and sensitivity was 94.8% and100% respectively.

Thyroid hormone is very important for optimal functions of the body including the cardiovascular system. Hypothyroidism has significant adverse effects on the functions of the cardiovascular system. Overt and subclinical hypothyroidism is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular-related mortality and morbidity. Methods: This prospective cross-sectional study was done in the Department of General Medicine, Govt. Medical College, Mahaboobnagar. A total was n=47 with n=15 males and n=32 females were included based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The patients with clinical symptoms of hypothyroidism were diagnosed and confirmed by chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) method for TSH, FT4 and FT3 levels other investigations were CXR, ECG, and 2D echo. Results: Out of total n=47 patients there were n=15 male and n=32 females. The total number of cases with hypothyroidism in the male group were n=15 out of which n=6 showed cardiovascular involvement and n=9 did not show cardiovascular involvement. Bradycardia was found in n=2 male and n=9 females and decreased in heart sounds was found in n=6 male and n=7 females. Echo findings were Diastolic dysfunction was found in n=10 female and mild diastolic dysfunctions were found in n=6 female. One case each of IVS thickness and pericardial effusion was found in n=5 males and n=11 females. Conclusion: Hypothyroid patients can present with different symptoms which may be sometimes non-specific. High suspicion is the key for early diagnosis of hypothyroidism. The appearance of cardiovascular symptoms depends on the duration of hypothyroidism. Treatment with appropriate doses of L-thyroxine depending on the levels of TSH and proper patient compliance to the treatment will generally ensure the reversal of the cardiac abnormalities

Introduction: AIDS is characterized by a number of opportunistic infections which are responsible for high morbidity
and mortality. The spectrum and distribution of opportunistic infection (OIs) in AIDS patients is due to viral
cytopathology and are secondary to the failure of both cellular and humeral response with CD4 count of <200 mm3 leads
to morbidity and mortality. Material and Methods: This is a descriptive and analytical study. Incidence of clinically and
laboratory confirmed cases of opportunistic infections in HIV patients are recorded, during the one year period from June
2017- May 2018. Samples of these patients processed for CD4 counts, to assess the immune status. Results: 500 HIV
seropositive patients with OI were studied. Out of these 308 (61.6%) patients had bacterial infections, of which TB (56%)
was predominant infection with CD4 count <200mm3. 85 (17%) patients had viral infections, of which common was
Herpes zoster 72 (14.4%). 65 (13%) patients had fungal infections of which common was oral candidiasis 46 (9.2%) with
CD4 count <100 mm3. 42 (8.4%) patients had parasitic infections, of which common was chronic diarrhea 40 (8%) with
CD4 count <100mm3. Commonly observed risk group was in heterosexual group (86.8%). Conclusion: Our study helps
the programme manager to plan appropriate strategies for the investigation and treatment of common OIs as a part of
management programme for HIV infected populations. It helps them for early diagnosis and manage the patients

Moisture sorption isotherms describe the relationship between moisture content and water activity in food. In this study,
adsorption and desorption isotherms for baobab fruit pulp powder was investigated. Static gravimetric method for
adsorption and desorption over the range of temperature (27-42 oC) and water activity (aw) (0.10-0.80) was used. The
experimental data were compared with four recommended models in the literature for food sorption isotherms (GAB,
modified Oswin (MOE), modified Henderson (MHDE), and modified Chung-Pfost (MCE). Equilibrium moisture
contents decreased with increase in temperature at all the water activity levels studied. The differences between the
adsorption and desorption curves were significant at p<0.05 and the hysteresis loops were affected by temperature. GAB
model was found to be suitable for predicting the moisture sorption isotherms for baobab fruit pulp powder. Results
obtained from this study showed the relationship between temperature and water activity as it affects the shelf life of
baobab fruit pulp powder.

Body fluids like pleural, ascetic/ peritoneal, synovial and cerebrospinal fluids are usually sterile, but they can get infected
by different microbes, thus leading to life threatening infections. This study was aimed to identify the prevalence of
common bacterial isolates in effusions; determine the antimicrobial susceptibility pattern; correlate the microbiological
and cytological imprints of effusions. This is a cross sectional and prospective study conducted between January and
December 2018 in a tertiary care teaching hospital among the samples received for pathological and microbiological
investigations. Of the 267 different body fluids samples processed, 127 (47.6%) were found to have inflammatory cells,
98 (36.7%) with non infectious cells and 42 (15.7%) with malignant cells in cytology. Of the 127 inflammatory samples,
42 samples supported with bacterial growth. The most common pathogens isolated were Klebsiella pneumoniae
(n=12;28.6%) followed by non fermenting gram negative bacilli, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa,
Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase negative staphylococci. The gram negative isolates were relatively resistant to
cephalosporins and quinolones; whereas gram positive isolates resistant to quinolones and aminoglycosides. Knowledge
of the cytological investigations, bacteriological and antimicrobial resistant profile of sterile body fluids is necessary for
clinicians for appropriate patient management.

Ovarian carcinosarcoma, also called a mesodermal mixed tumor or mixed Mullerian tumor, is a rare ovarian tumor that accounts for less than 2% of ovarian cancers. It is an aggressive tumor that combines a carcinomatous component with a sarcomatous component. Less than 400 cases have been reported in the literature. We report 01 case observed over five years at the department of obstetric and gynecology of the university hospital Hassan II. Ovarian carcinosarcoma has a worse prognosis than ovarian epithelial tumors. Its rarity explains that there is no consensus on its management. There is very little data available. The only prognostic factor found is the initial stage. The surgical management is a determining factor for the survival of the patients, this one must be as complete as possible. The sensitivity to the chemotherapy is lower, is about 20%. The survival at five years is lowered when the compared to epithelial tumors of the ovary

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a widespread tumor-like growth of the oral cavity. This lesion is generally caused by
continual poor oral hygiene and low-grade trauma. Many methods have been proposed to remove these lesions. The
using of lasers, one of these methods, is considered a safe and effective technique for the removal of these lesions with
many clinical advantages such as hemostasis, no intra-operative bleeding and decreased times of healing and pain. The
aim of this report is to evaluate the diode laser treatment of three patients with PG. In this case series three uncommon
cases of histopathologically PGs in the mandible are presented with the treatment plan of using diode laser to surgically
excise the lesions. The patients reported no pain after the surgery. They were discharged with a prescription of
chlorhexidine mouthwash and necessary post-operative instructions. The results of this case series demonstrate successful
results in the treatment of diode laser pyogenic granuloma-like gingival lesions. The diode laser can be used as an
alternative treatment option for the treatment of intraoral PG lesions that minimizes recurrence and increases postoperative comfort and healing.

The diagnosis of cancer in Nigeria is perceived as a hopeless situation and is not unusual to expect total mortality of all sufferers. Choriocarcinoma is particularly important because it is nearly completely curable. The aim of this study was to review the socio-demographic characteristics, cost implications and management of choriocarcinoma in a tertiary institution in North-west Nigeria. This was a 5-year retrospective study. Records of the patients diagnosed with choriocarcinoma from 1st January, 2008 to 31st December, 2012 were retrieved and relevant data extracted and analyzed using the SPSS for windows version 20.0. There were 24 cases of choriocarcinoma giving an incidence of 1.5 per 1000 deliveries. The mean age of the patients was 33.21 ± 2.14 years. Recurrent vaginal bleeding (95.2%) was the most common form of presentation. The common predisposing factors were complete mole (47.6%) and abortion (28.6%) while the metastatic sites were the vagina/pelvic structures (42.9%) and lungs (33.3%). Many, (33.3%) signed against medical advice (SAMA) while 61.9% had methotrexate or MAC as first-line treatment. The common complications were disease progression despite treatment (33.3%) and myelosuppression (33.3%). The average cost of treatment was ₦200,000 ($600). The 5-year survival rate was 9.5%. The incidence of choriocarcinoma in this review was low. The cost of treatment was out of reach of most patients hence the need for health insurance coverage of all Nigerians. The use of methotrexate and MAC regimen as first-line chemotherapy appeared to be ineffective as the disease progressed despite treatment. The five-year survival was dismal

This study aims to analyze the effect of earnings management on firm value with the mechanism of Good Corporate
Governance as a moderating variable. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The study was conducted
on Property and Real Estate Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2012-2017. The analytical
method used is multiple regression analysis. The purpose of this study is to find out whether earnings management is able
to influence the value of the company with the mechanism of Good Corporate Governance as a moderating variable. The
expected results of this study are Profit Management that can influence the Corporate Value which is moderated by the
Good Corporate Governance mechanism. The results of this study indicate that Profit Management has no effect on Firm
Value. Simultaneously the four mechanisms of Good Corporate Governance, namely the Board of Independent
Commissioners, Institutional Ownership, Managerial Ownership, and the Audit Committee have a significant positive
effect on Firm Values. But partially only Audit Committees have a significant positive effect on Firm Value. While the
variables of the Independent Board of Commissioners, Institutional Ownership, and Managerial Ownership do not affect
the Firm Value. Of the four Good Corporate Governance mechanisms, only the Independent Board of Commissioners
and Managerial Ownerships is a moderating variable that can weaken the effect of Profit Management on Firm Value.

Ectopic pregnancy is a gynecological emergency that must always be considered in a woman of childbearing age because of her morbidity and mortality. Cornual pregnancies are rare and account for only 2% of the ectopic ones. Their management is poorly codified: the treatment is medical, when possible with methotrexate. The alternative is surgical with a significant risk of haemorrhage that can justify the use of an embolization and sometimes leading to a radical treatment that must be explained beforehand to the patient.

The study examined the role of work-family conflict on two groups of mothers whose ages were between 25 years and 42 years with a mean age of 34.5 years. Both groups of mothers were involved in paid and self-employments in a University sub-urban town, South-South Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria. A survey research design was utilized in which a survey questionnaire was used in selecting 102 mothers. Out of this number, 62 (63. 24%) of these mothers were in self employments, whilst 40 (40. 8%) of them were in paid employments. One research question / research hypothesis was formulated which guided this study and one research instrument namely, work-family conflict a 12-item questionnaire was used as the research instrument [1] with a reliability index of 0.82. The simple mean (x), standard deviation (sd) and a t-test were computed for the two groups of mothers. The independent t-test statistic computed revealed the manifestation of work-family conflict in both groups of respondents (P > 0.05; T = 1.04; DF = 100; SD = 3.805, Mean = 12.895). In order to mitigate the stressful effects of work-family conflict on mothers whether in paid or self-employments, spousal, emotional support and good time management were recommended. The study concluded by asserting that both mothers in paid and self-employments manifested evidence of work-family conflict
