Snakebite envenomation occurs due to subcutaneous or intramuscular injection of venom into a victim resulting in complicated pharmacological effects that depend on the combined and synergistic action of toxic and non-toxic components. Hence, this research was aimed at evaluating the hepato-protective effect of Azadirachta indica leaf fractionated extracts against snake venom toxicity in albino rats. A. indica leaf was collected, authenticated and extracted using 95% methanol followed by fractionation using hexane and ethylacetate. Albino rats of both sexes were randomly divided into five (5) groups of six (6) rats each (3 males and 3 females). Group 1 received 1% aqueous solution of Tween-80 orally. Groups 2, 3 and 4 received 0.2 mg/kg b.w. of the venom, but 3 and 4 were treated with 100 mg/kg b.w. of hexane fraction and ethylacetate fraction respectively. Group 5 received 0.2 mg/kg b.w. of the venom and treated with standard conventional antivenin. The hexane and the ethylacetate fractions significantly provided protection on the liver probably via inactivation of the venom cytotoxins leading to the hepatic protection. Among the two (2) fractions administered to the envenomed rats, only hexane fraction was able to significantly (P<0.05) reduce the activity of serum LDH compared to the venom control group. None of the fractions or the standard antivenin reduced the serum AST, but the levels of total and direct bilirubin were significantly (P<0.05) lowered in the envenomed rat compared to the venom control group. In contrast, the standard antivenin significantly increased the serum TP. This research has provided a scientific proof on the antivenom properties of A. indica leaf, and the plant extracts tested can be used for the detoxification of the snake venom toxicity.

10.36348/sjef.2020.v04i06.010
In this paper, we use data envelopment analysis (DEA) to evaluate the relative performance of 41 open-end funds from 2015 to 2018 in China market. By comparison, it is found that the traditional performance measurement index based on investment return rate and DEA model have both similarities and differences in evaluating relative performance of fund. The fund performance evaluation system established by DEA model includes many estimators such as risk reward, fund behavior and growth liquidity. It could accomplish more comprehensive performance evaluation results than traditional performance analysis methods. In addition, this paper uses DEA-Malmquist super-efficiency to analyze the potential micro and macro factors that influence the relative performance of fund. The result shows that there may be an optimal interval between relative performance of fund and its size. The current investors of open-end funds are mainly small and medium-sized investors and the participation of institutional investors is low. Increasing the percentage of institutional investors could have a positive impact on the fund's relative performance. This paper brings perspectives and suggestions for investors, fund managers and market supervisors to further improve the efficiency of open-end fund and its relative performance.

Infertility has grown into an emergent issue in recent times. It is defined as the inability of the couple to conceive despite two years of co habitation and unprotected exposure to pregnancy. As there is a dearth of studies concerning infertility among rural population this study was taken up in Sri Siddhartha Medical College, a constituent college of SSAHE, a Deemed to be university which caters to rural population of Tumkur district of Karnataka with the aim of assessing the role of HbA1c, Vitamin D and AMH in infertile women of the above mentioned population. Our case control study included age matched 40 infertile women and 40 apparently healthy women. Quantification of HbA1c was by fluorescence immunoassay on the Fine Care analyzer. AMH was assayed on cobas e immunoassay analyzer adopting chemiluminescene method. Vitamin D estimated by fully automated chemiluminescene analyzer Siemens Advia Centaur for 25-OH Vitamin D. Our study revealed statistically significant (P-<0.001) increase of Blood HbA1c and serum AMH whereas significant (P-<0.001) decrease in serum Vitamin D levels. The present study shows that there is high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency, significantly elevated HbA1c levels which is marker of long term glycemic control and increased AMH levels which indicated anovulation in infertile women. So it is suggested that early estimation of these biochemical parameters and their correction would possibly lead to increased chances of conception in these infertile women of rural population.

The purpose of this study is to produce a science learning tool with a valid, practical, and effective guided inquiry model. The subjects of the study were 8th grade students at SMPN 1 Martapura Timur. The development model used is the Tessmer model, which includes: 1) self-evaluation, 2) expert test, 3) individual test, 4) small group test and 5) field test. Descriptive quantitative research methods. The research subjects consisted of three individual student trial subjects, 12 small group test subjects. Subjects of the field test students were 30 students. Determination of research subjects in a purposive manner, namely students who have high, medium, and low academic ability. The results showed that the science learning tools were valid, practical and effective. Validation is shown from the results of the validation of 3 experts categorized as very valid and the test readability of teaching materials and worksheets by students who are categorized very well. Practically used because partner teachers are able to carry out learning activities. Effectively used based on the observed parameters namely 1) learning achievement test with 77% completeness, 2) students' critical thinking skills (analysis and drawing conclusions) are very good, while (interpretation, evaluation, explanation and independence) are good, 3) participant psychomotor skills very good students, 4) the behavior of students' characteristics (thorough and responsibility) on average is very good, 5) the social skills of students (working together and contributing ideas) on average are very good and the results of spiritual attitudes towards gratitude are very good categorized . The conclusion is that the learning tools developed meet the valid, practical and effective criteria.

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning tools based on the guided inquiry approach. The guided inquiry approach is expected to be able to facilitate students to be active in exploring knowledge by using science process skills and to be scientific as the natural science learning process should be. The research design used is the Tessmer development design. The data analysis technique is quantitative descriptive. The research sample were 8th Grades students of SMPN 9 Banjarmasin and SMPN 23 Banjarmasin. The research subjects consisted of 2 experimental classes each with 30 and 25 students and 1 control class consisting of 30 students. The results showed effective learning tools to improve science process skills and scientific attitudes based on: 1) Student learning outcomes in the experimental class have exceeded classical completeness; 2) The science process skills of indicators observing, classifying, predicting, interpreting and communicating in both experimental classes are good and very good. N-gain scores in both classes of experiments are quite effective. ANCOVA results show that 78% of the learning tools developed are able to provide a better influence on the science process skills of experimental class students; 3) Completeness of indicators of scientific attitudes of curiosity, thorough and responsible categorized both in the two classes of experiments. Individual completeness in both experimental classes exceeded 75%, which means that classical completeness was achieved.
