Background: Relationship between obesity and hypertension is well established and hypertension shows positive relationship with all obesity indices. Objective: To determine the obesity indicator with the greatest sensitivity in predicting hypertension. Method: A cross-sectional community-based descriptive survey was carried out in Enugu Metropolis. Multistage sampling procedures were used to select participants using the World Health Organization STEPS instrument. Height, weight, waist circumference; hip circumference and blood pressure were measured and recorded. Results: A total of 482 participants were recruited; of which 160 (33.2%) and 322 (66.8%) were males and females respectively. 89 (18.5%) participants have high systolic blood pressure, 117(24.3%) have high diastolic blood pressure, while the overall hypertension prevalence is seen in 123 participants (25.5%). The blood pressure was noticed to increase as obesity increases regardless of the index of obesity used and that at WHR≥1 all the 15 participants (M:8, F:7m) that crossed that threshold were hypertensive regardless of age and sex demonstrating the sensitivity of WHR in predicting hypertension and associated cardiometabolic risks. Conclusion: obesity and hypertension are interrelated and common in our environment, all the indices of obesity show positive correlation with hypertension but WHR offers a simple index that can be used to detect occult hypertension in our clinics due its 100% correlation at the WHR threshold of ≥1.

Objective: The aim of the study was to assess the peak power and relative peak power output between raiders and defenders in professional kabaddi players using the counter movement jump test. Method: A total of 16 professional male kabaddi players, evenly split into 8 raiders, and 8 defenders with an average kabaddi experience of 6 years (aged 22.5 ± 3.1 years, height 175.1 ± 6.3cm and weight 78.7 ± 0.5kg) participated in this study. A counter movement jump test on a force platform was performed to determine their power output values along with their whole-body composition analysis. All players have played in national, international, or pro league competitions. During their 8-week pre-season camp in September–October 2022, these athletes trained and were tested at Inspire Institute of Sport in Bellary, India. Results: The results indicated that there is no significant difference in peak power output with respect to a Kabaddi player’s playing position or training age. But a significant positive correlation (p=0.039) was established between lean body mass and relative peak power output. Conclusion: The current study suggests that peak power production from the countermovement leap test may be a good way to measure explosive leg power in kabaddi athletes. Kabaddi raiders and defenders have similar vertical jump height, peak power, and relative peak power. Years of kabaddi experience did not affect countermovement jump test variables. According to the study, all kabaddi players have similar physiological demands.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already here, and is speedily transforming industries. This paper examines the impact of AI on the socio-political rights of the people globally, particularly in the area of job loss. Automation is not a new concept. It can be traced to the introduction of machines into industries back in the Second and Third Industrial Revolutions. However, the automation introduced by artificial intelligence is of a higher level. Artificial Intelligence is taking risks for humans in the manufacturing industry, mining industry, and even in the Military. It is versatile, that is, it is capable of being used in every sector of the world, and with the rate of technological unemployment, (caused by automation), the significance of Artificial Intelligence has become subject to controversy. This research adopts a desk based doctrinal research methodology to examine the issue of socio-economic human rights in era of automation. This research discovers that AI will create jobs, but an analysis of research studies on job loss due to automation reveals the large margin between jobs created by AI and jobs lost due to AI, thus posing threats to socio-economic human rights. It also discovers that the jobs created by AI require only persons with technical skills and knowledge for employment in the nearest future. AI will cause deskilling and falling wages. This research work recommends that legislations must be put in place to ensure that the use of AI technologies are controlled in order to give the government enough time to balance the inequality created by AI technologies. Technical skills acquisition and robot tax can be adopted by nations to enable them cope with the speed of AI.
Scrub typhus is not a recent disease. This was prominent before the era of World War II. However, the disease is primarily prevalent in the Pacific Islands and southeast Asia. The symptoms begin with fever, eschar development, and a rash. As a result, diagnosing the disease has become more complex because comparable symptoms can be observed in a variety of other conditions. Therefore, proper diagnostic tests are required to diagnose the condition. Scrub typhus infections are increasing in India every year, and several states are reporting an increase in cases. The disease mostly affects the gastrointestinal system, nervous system, renal systems, and respiratory systems; however, mortality can be minimized with early diagnosis and adequate treatment. As many people in India are unaware of the condition, raising awareness will help in the saving of many lives.
An organisation's ability to evolve for them to remain current in today's ever changing technological marketplace is paramount to the sustainability and viability of an organisation. Agility is perceived as a key attribute that aids an organisation in this endeavour. The concept of agile and agility has been around for a couple of decades now. Initially coming into existence through the Agile Manifesto, starting out as a predominantly technology focused paradigm. It has slowly but steadily moved into a mindset shift within projects and now more recently within organisations. The ability of an organisation to embrace agility and an agile mindset has been one of the core factors impacting the viability of an organisation and its place in the globalised marketplace.

DOI: 10.36348/sjmps.2023.v09i09.013
Introduction: Cellulose consists of β-(1 → 4)-linked glucose units arranged in a ribbon-type conformation in a zigzag pattern. Parallel chains fit closely to each other and associate with multiple hydrogen bonds to give rise to long fibers, which are totally insoluble in water and relatively inert. Although subject to some swelling in water, cellulose is entirely unaffected by boiling in water. Objectives: The objective of this study is to investigate the potential for breaking down the pollen wall of honey-collected pollen using acid with pH of stomach acid, and to determine whether the honey-making process by bees is necessary for human consumption of the amino acid content present in pollen. Materials and Methods: Natural litchi flower honey was collected from Litchi Garden of Doctor Honey, Health & Harvest Dinajpur, Bangladesh in March 2021. 1 ml natural raw honey of litchi flower was diluted with 5 ml distilled water in a conical test tube. (Falcon). This was centrifuged in a swing-out rotor centrifuge (Labofuge, Germany) at a speed of 900 rpm for 10 minutes. The pollens made a pellet at the bottom of the tube. A sample from the pellet was taken on a glass slide and checked under the light microscope (optima) to ensure the presence of pollen. Citric acid was also added to the pollen. Results: Many of the pollen’s walls were found broken within one hour. It is visible that the contents of the pollen sacs are oozing out. One or two broken pollen was found in each 100 of the sample before adding acid whereas many were broken after adding acid. Conclusion: Honey-collected pollen's wall can be broken down using stomach acid, emphasizing the importance of the honey-making process for accessing amino acids, while preserving pollen in honey is crucial for maximizing nutritional benefits.
