National symbols are very instrumental items for a country’s peace, unity and prosperity. The national symbol
for instance the national anthem is always sung at the learning institutions and or during the country’s special occasions.
Though national anthems just like any other national symbols have a noble role in the country, some countries tend to
disregard its letter and spirit. One such country is the Republic of South Sudan (RoSS). Being the newest country in
Africa and probably the state that experienced a longer period of civil wars and with the bigger number of the Internally
Displaced Persons (IDPs), it has been the wishes of the citizens and the people the world over to have a lasting peace and
unity. However, since independence in 2011, there have been intermittent ethnic clashes resulting into deaths of many
South Sudanese civilians and also loss of property. This is happening despite the fact that its national anthem possesses
elements of peace and harmony. In this regard, the paper intends to expose the underlying paradoxes inherent in the
national anthem of the RoSS.

Bridging the generation gap between parent and children is essential. Parents often contribute their share in
digging gap between parents and children by pushing the kid's beyond their limits. This happens in two ways. Parents
either demands higher than the limits of the child or pushes the child beyond the economical or social limits of parents
themselves. This, in future, makes the child going astray from the lifestyle and status of parents. The present paper is an
attempt to find out the reasons of Generation Gap. It has been observed that as the parents fussy with the behavior of the
children, arguments convert into disputes and there is a high degree of disagreement between how adult children and
their parents view their relationship. There are a number of other factors that affect the generations; the strongest and
most consistent predictors are sex, age, child’s marital status, and residential proximity.

The sale of foods on the street is a common aspect of lifestyle in many countries and very prominent in Ghana.
The street food trade has evolved into a large food sector that provides a means of income for the vendors and
reasonably priced food to millions of people from all walks of life. However, the hygienic aspects of vending operations
are a major source of concern for food control officers. As a result of this, there is the need to determine the food safety
knowledge and practices of these street vendors so that the safety of such food can be guaranteed. This research was
therefore carried out to assess the food safety knowledge and practices of street food vendors in Takoradi. The
respondents were 10% male and 90% female. The result indicated that the street food vendors had fair knowledge of food
safety practices but a large portion (70%) of them had no medical clearance certificate. The health and personal hygiene
knowledge in this survey showed that majority of the vendors do not have any knowledge on health and personal
hygiene. It is therefore recommended that a policy should be put in place to periodically educate food handlers especially
vendors because food safety education should not only be triggered by evidences of visible dirt or unpleasant body
odour.

Though meager, but studies are indicative of psycho-physiological turmoil of women in Uttarakhand, a
northern state in India. Women perform tons of chores in the house as well as field, in hilly areas. The positive statistical
data for women in terms of literacy rate cannot hide the grimmer condition of women in relation to poor nutritional
status, poor psychological health, poor financial independence, poor decision making power etc. The current situation of
women aggravates when it is further accompanied by introduction of eating disorders. The problem of eating disorder has
a direct impact on nutritional and psychological health. The dearth of literature in this arena leaves the problem
unrecognized and thus unaddressed.
