Mental health issues among college students are a growing concern, with estimates of prevalence varying widely depending on the population studied and the criteria used to define mental health issues. In this study, we aimed to explore the relationship between mental health, academic performance, and self-social mental health recovery among college students. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among college students, and data were collected on mental health, academic performance, and self-social mental health recovery. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and ANOVA were used to analyse the data. The results showed that college students reported above- average levels of mental health and academic performance, with prevalence and severity of mental health issues and factors contributing to poor mental health also rated high. The study found a significant positive relationship between factors contributing to poor mental health and self-social mental health recovery, as well as between mental health and academic performance and self-social mental health recovery. However, no significant relationship was found between prevalence and severity of mental health issues and self-social mental health recovery. The findings suggest that addressing factors contributing to poor mental health and promoting mental health and academic performance may be key in improving self-social mental health recovery among college students. Future research is needed to explore these relationships further and to identify effective strategies for promoting mental health and well-being among college students.

The digitalization of commerce and finance has brought us to the era of e-business and e-transactions. E-business transactions refer to the use of electronics in the carrying out of commercial activities (sales and purchases). Unfortunately, the rise of e-business transactions has been plagued by the issue of electronic fraud, which has become prevalent now more than ever. Mathematics as a field is fundamental to life and present in virtually every aspect of man’s life and is an essential tool required and used in problem-solving. The business world is not exempt from the influence of mathematics, and considering this, this study explores the relevance of mathematical knowledge and skills in e-business transactions, as well as in solving the problem of electronic fraud. Mathematics was shown to be useful in fraud prevention tools and strategies like cryptography, data management, and optimization, risk assessment, fraud prevention algorithms, etc. We suggest that all the stakeholders in every field should teach the importance and use of mathematical knowledge and skills to all learners in the entire education system and efforts toward encouraging the development of mathematical knowledge and skills for individuals across all fields, especially in science, technology, business world and in form of training among others.

Perceptions and treatment routines of eclampsia are complex and diverse reflective of different religious and cultural beliefs. Most often, pregnant women go for conventional options in handling the disease while neglecting the natural and cultural ways. These conflicting perceptions and treatment regimen thwarts an inclusive management of the disease. It is against this background that this study sets out to investigate perceptions, prevention strategies and treatment regimens of eclampsia. Data for this study was gotten through secondary and primary sources. Secondary data were gleaned from soft and hard copies of published and unpublished documents; journals, archives, health reports relevant to the perception and management of eclampsia. Primary data were qualitative and sourced from a sample of 239 respondents from different religious and cultural backgrounds using interviews, FGDs and observations. Data collected was processed using the Straus coding method and analysed using content analysis. Results obtained revealed that while others sees eclampsia as; common complications of pregnancy, depression and stress, others perceive it to spirituality and hereditary. However, depression and high blood pressure were outstanding. Prevention strategies were reflective of the perceptions; sufficient rest and good feeding habits while others belief in performing traditional rites and tying charms around their waist against forms of witchcraft and sorceries. On treatment regimens, prayers and deliverance, herbs and conventional ways were noted. Nature and culture were more effective in the management process. Eclampsia is associated with significant myth and perceptions. A stand-in cultural and natural way of management to decolonise conventional myths and supremacy regimen of eclampsia are recommended.

DOI: 10.36348/sjhss.2023.v08i06.006
One of the specific objectives of the United States President Joe Biden’s Middle East visit, in July 2022, was the intent of Saudi Arabia normalization of diplomatic relations with Israel. However, this was largely unachieved despite the fact that Israel and Saudi Arabia had long been in secret cooperation, without formal diplomatic relations between them, since Israel attained nationhood in 1948. This article sought to examine the concrete barriers to normalization of relations, extolling cooperation and disentangling the cyclic ambivalences of Saudi government towards Israel. Certain barriers could be removed, aimed at strengthening normal peaceful co-existence between the two countries. The neorealist and neoliberal theoretical perspectives are adopted as framework of analysis. Data were derived from both primary and secondary sources, made up of interview, government official documents and independent mediascape. Findings showed that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict remained the concrete barrier to normalized Saudi-Israeli relations. But areas of cooperation between the two countries, albeit covertly, include trade and common stance against security concerns. These and other areas of cooperation could be broadened to strengthen peaceful co-existence between the two neighbours. And more determined diplomatic efforts must continue, to resolve the generational and intractable Israeli-Palestinian conflict on ‘two-state’ solution basis. In conclusion, the ambivalences that have characterized relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia need be discarded. A Palestinian statehood is attainable, with rights of mutual co-existence between the parties and removing nuclear threat and need for balance of power, all necessary to make the Middle East relatively stable and peaceful.

This adjudged the instrument to be reliable. An electronic questionnaire was sent to 210 (two hundred and ten) Christian students in the University of Ibadan through their fellowship presidents and coordinators. However, 205 Christian students responded to the questionnaire. The data was analysed using mean, mean percentage, standard deviation and ranking.
