Owing to the apparent inconsistencies in empirical findings in executive compensation and financial
performance studies and the widening gap in the underpinning theories, this study examined the effect of change in
industry-type on compensation-performance study. The study used ex post-facto research design to test its objectives
using ten year data drawn from banking and construction industries with results obtained from data analysis using both
descriptive and inferential statistics. Both correlation and OLS results revealed significantly negative and positive results
on banking and construction industries respectively. The study concludes that industry characteristics like product type,
existence of tangibles and magnitude of returns which differentiates the industries account for the variation of results.
The research recommended investors and providers of funds should factor in the sensitivity of compensation to operating
returns in the determination of investing industry. This is because the higher the sensitivity, the lower the agency costs
and vice versa. Further research is suggested for wider comparative analysis in unrelated and highly diversified industries
for potential theory development.

10.21276/sjbms
This study seek to amplify the chemistry between foreign direct investment, exchange rate, interest rate and
economic development in Nigeria between the periods 1986 to 2015 using Auto Regressive Distributive Lag model.
From the statistical report, we discovered that foreign direct investment and interest rate exhibit a direct relationship to
economic development in Nigeria. Study further suggest that the low rate of interest promote investment paradox and
thus stimulate economic development in Nigeria while the report from the exchange rate shows that if exchange rate is
appreciating, economic development is been stimulated. This therefore suggest that an appreciating exchange rate is
capable of attracting foreign investors and thus promote economic development as the case may be. The interrelationship between exchange rate, foreign investment and economic development is expected to be direct accordingly
such that rise in exchange rate attract foreign investment and thus promote economic development in Nigeria. The policy
implication is that if Exchange Rate appreciates, then Naira will be cheap relative to other currencies, this can attract
Foreign Direct Investment inflow into the Nigerian economy through the window of reduce Naira value and cheap
investment in Nigeria. Based on this findings, study recommends that authorities in charge of managing the Nigerian
economy should as a matter of urgency revamp the lending habit by introducing low interest rate as this will make it
cheaper to borrow and this encourages spending and investment lending to higher aggregate demand which will further
stimulate economic development.

This study seeks to evaluate the influence of change in Distribution of the national dividend/income on the
welfare of the Nigerians, utilizing secondary data sourced from central bank of Nigeria statistical bulletin between the
periods 1986 to 2015. To achieve the objectives of this study, Unit root test, Johansen Cointegration, and Pairwise
Granger Causality test were employed. The results show that while the study variables are stationary at level, the results
of Johansen‟s Cointegration and Granger Causality Test indicate the absence of any significant long run relationship as
well as any significant level of support and/or promotion on the Nigerian economy and the study's explanatory variables.
The results might probably be attributed to the following factors which prevail significantly in Nigeria. This factors
includes Lack of feminine activity privatization especially in the business world and meagre funds disbursed to the
minorities like the small and medium scale enterprises. In the light of this findings, study recommended that the nation
should uphold a fairer and more lucid income distribution technique towards allocating more to those with lower income/
finally, Taxation should be done progressively to avoid the tax burden resting evenly on all income group of the
economy.

In the 21st century, global business has emerged as a powerful and foremost driver of economic growth.
Business supply mass demand for both consumer and industrial goods and services. The last few decades have also
witnessed an increasingly rapid rush for greater productivity and profitability unparalleled with any other time in history.
The main metric of measuring business performance is thus profit. However, in this day and age, business ethics has been
sidelined by many businesses owners and their employees. For many businesses, the ends justify the means, and
unethical practices are often looked upon as merely a business decision that needs to be made to meet sales targets or
achieve organisational results. Thus for many ethics is overlooked on a daily basis in favour of other worldly ideals. The
practice of business documentation may however hold a key to reviving ethical business practice. With an increasingly
rapid trend towards documentation and Quality Assurance in the business world, the development of a document
pertaining to ethical business practice might just be a feasible solution to introducing business ethics as an important
metric of performance in line with productivity. However, in order for this to be achieved, the business organisation must
carefully avoid the challenging obstacles the might hamper their attempts to develop an ethics charter for their
organisation. However, if they are successful, the rewards might greatly outweigh the costs.

The important role played by entrepreneur as an agent of economic transformation in every civilized society is
mostly visible in terms of employment and wealth generation, competitiveness and economic strength of a modern
nation. There is growing evidence to support the view that when people were exposed entrepreneurship trainings and
education programs, they tend to be more inclined towards entrepreneurial actions, and sometimes even become more
effective as entrepreneurs. The current economic realities in many developing economies have unavoidably forced policy
makers and the academics to place very high priority on developing entrepreneurial skills and knowledge through
education. This paper attempts to give a critical review of various literatures and related studies on entrepreneurial
competencies and shows how these competencies can be relevant and critical for lecturers teaching entrepreneurship
courses in higher learning institutions. Based on the reviewed related literatures in the study, it was discovered that
lecturers must possess some basic entrepreneurial competencies for effective teaching to their students as well as to
develop students‟ entrepreneurial skills and knowledge which are considered necessary for new venture management and
new venture creation. Three competencies that found to be very important for entrepreneurship lecturers are;
entrepreneurial knowledge, skills and attitudes. It recommended that this area of research should be broadened and
lecturers should develop their own competencies so that students aspiring in entrepreneurship can be aware of them
which can have greater chances in their entrepreneurial success.

10.21276/sjbms
The aim of this paper is to analyze a pay scheme with three possible scenarios, all under the hypothetical
premise of the purchase of an appliance under three different terms of payment. In theory we know that the greater the
capitalization of an interest rate, the greater the increase of the burden of interest on the person who acquires the credit.
However, the calculations show that option 4, weekly payments, appears to be the option with the smallest interest
payment (5.93%) versus 5.99% and 6.20% for options 2 and 3, respectively. Finally, it is important to mention that the
import of each payment is what makes the difference: option 2 is $106.62, option 3 is $53.18 and option 4 is $24.53.
Option 1 is cash payment.
