Young people’s education has become, today, the first priority of national and international meetings or policies although most of them are dying of hunger, starvation, and during non-authorized immigration, resulting from unemployment and other forms of criminality and delinquency. To better understand and explain these enigmatic social issues so as to find out the real causes of the failure of educative strategies, including its negative consequences, as well as the required solutions for a better future, from the context of the novel, Psychoanalytic Criticism has been used through its psychological, human, social, sociological, political and economic dimensions, sharing exactly or not the writer’s perception. Very well educated or trained, talented young people, with secured employment for sustainable development, are expected contributions, in the end of this analytical and critical study.

Using Mother-Tongue in Teaching of Science and Technology: Reference to the North-East and North-West Geo-Political Zones, Nigeria

This work conducted a study of language medium and the teaching of science and technology through the medium of mother-tongue in North-East and North-West Geo-Political Zones, Nigeria. a case study research design was used in collecting data for the study. We investigated some selected public primary school students in the two geo-political zones of the North-East and North-West. There are an estimated 100,000 primary school students in the two zones. Each zone is stratified along with the component. 18 schools were selected at random for the study from each geo-political zone. A minimum of 30 students were equally selected at random from each school from the zone under investigation. Questionnaires, oral interviews, and informal interactions were employed simultaneously to elicit information. The Sapir-Whorf hypothesis which holds that our thoughts are shaped by our native languages; and that speakers of different languages, therefore, think differently was used as the theoretical framework of analysis. The work discovered among other things that the science and technology learning area has various challenges as pointed out by the participants. On the whole, the work concludes that the people’s language is not only part of their socio-cultural heritage; it is the natural medium of thought, expression, and communication within that culture.

PBL (Project-Based Learning) is a student-centered approach in which learning is organized by means of projects. Students are required to explore problems with their teammates collaboratively and to display their output project. In this study, PBL has been conducted in three classes of North China Electric Power University (Baoding) for one semester to probe whether PBL serves as an effective way to combine explicit teaching content with implicit ideological and political education. Based on a questionnaire and in-depth interview, the results show that PBL enables value education to exert the impact on students’ development.

This article focuses on the research of the characteristics of foreign energy discourse from the perspective of "One Belt One Road". Combined with the current international economic background, the international energy cooperation language discourse and activities relevant documents reading are carried out through a horizontal and vertical comparative analysis. It is mainly about the language itself to analyze energy discourse development, existing problems and improvement measures. From the case analysis of scientific knowledge competition and discourse construction in the international energy field, it can be seen that adding the scientific and technological discourse perspective to study energy transition is conducive to a deeper understanding of the future energy strategic pattern and direction. It is also advantageous to the huge driving force contained in energy transition to promote China's development and international system change. It requires us to consider the international background work understanding and the language plan itself. We are supposed to analyze the current political hotspots reasonably such as the situation in Russia, Ukraine and related energy development strategies, and conduct in-depth exploration of energy academic discourse studies socially and contemporarily. Besides, it is significant to highlight the times development theme to promote global energy governance.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, the literary and artistic works about COVID-19 have appeared one after another. As a new branch of discourse analysis, the Multimodal Discourse Analysis has always been an important way for studying multimedia discourses. Based on the theory of visual grammar, this study intercepts and makes a qualitative analysis of the images with research significance in the documentary Together Against COVID-19 produced by CGTN. In this way, this study has drawn a conclusion that the documentary editors use picture language to create a responsible, friendly, and also dignified national image of China, to describe the emotional state of the masses in China in the process of COVID-19, and to achieve the purpose of conveying emotions and shaping positive national image through different aspects.
