Understanding the current status of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) applications in the real world would be beneficial for sports medicine research and rehabilitation studies. It would further promote the development of the athlete ecosystem. This paper examines the applications and research progress of the FHIR framework in the field of sports medicine applications at home and abroad in recent years, compares and analyzes the similarities and differences between CardinalKit FHIR and different frameworks, discusses the opportunities and challenges faced by FHIR currently, and constructs interoperable sports medicine applications using FHIR and CardinalKit FHIR.
